The Victorian Government has committed to removing 75 dangerous and congested level crossings by 2025. With 46 already gone the project is ahead of schedule so another 10 have been added to make it 85 level crossings gone by 2025. We're removing 20 level crossings on the Frankston line. With 11 already removed, 7 underway, we now have added another 2 including, Warrigal Road, Mentone & Parkers Road, Parkdale (Parkdale Level Crossing Removal Project).
Recently Premier Dan Andrews announced the preferred removal option was an elevated rail bridge, based on the engineering recommendations of the Level Crossing Removal Authority.
As your local MP, I want hear what is important to your family about the removal of the dangerous level crossings in Parkdale. We will share these views with the Level Crossing Removal Authority and Victorian Government. This does not replace or circumvent the formal consultation process with Level Crossing Removal Authority which will commence by the end of the year.
If you are interested in attending a session, please register your interest below and we will be in touch in the coming weeks with more details.
Those who register will be invited to join me for a chat with your neighbours to discuss the project and what it means for your family. We will be prioritising constituents by their closeness to the high impact zone. As we are currently staying at home during COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria to suppress the spread the virus, these chats will be virtual until it is safe to meet in person.
Thank you for expressing interest in the project and I look forward to meeting with you soon!
