Education
Across the state, we’re supporting all Victorians along their education journey. The Andrews Labor Government is making sure that every family in Victoria can access early childhood education for their kids by making kinder free from 2023.
We’re also building and upgrading our schools, giving children across our community the facilities they need to access a world class education. Victorians now have access to more than 70 free TAFE courses, to help them gain the skills they need to start the jobs they want. But now, we’re doing even more.
We will build 50 new government-operated kinders and childcare centres where we need them the most. We’ll upgrade even more schools, and continue to make sure every child can access a great education. We’re also delivering free nursing and midwifery degrees in 2023 and 2024.

Keysborough Gardens Primary School
At the last election we promised to deliver $5.34 million for Keysborough Gardens Primary School. In the 2023/24 State budget we came good on our commitment, which means facilities that will accommodate another 150 students and improve and upgrade thee playground, canteen, sporting facilities and car park.
Chelsea Heights Kindergarten
Upgrading and expanding Chelsea Heights kindergarten to a new two room kinder, in partnership with Kingston Council.
Parkdale Secondary College
This year, we will finish off major upgrades to Parkdale Secondary College, which will see an upgraded Year 7 and 8 centre and refurbished first aid facilities.
Parktone Primary School
Recently we opened Parktone Primary's fantastic new library. This state of the art facility will be an incredible asset to the the kids and help nurture their education
Mordialloc College
Recently, we opened a brand-new Learning Centre for Year 7s and 8s at Mordialloc College. Now we’re delivering a $12.6 million upgrade to Mordialloc College the next phase of their school building works. We have also secured funding for the Mordialloc College Stage 3 Redevelopment plan.
Yarrabah School
Delivered a rebuild of the entire school with a new hydrotherapy pool to ensure accessibility for our students.
Edithvale Primary School
New STEM learning spaces and classroom and a brand-new art room.
Chelsea Heights Primary School
Delivered major school upgrades with new classrooms and outdoor playing spaces.
Mentone Park Primary School
Delivering major school upgrades and a masterplan for the school community.
Chelsea Primary School
Delivering Master Plan and Stage 1 of school buildings upgrades.
Elonera Preschool
Delivering a new room to support more kindy places.
St Joseph’s Primary School
Delivered an improved and modernised school hall.
Chelsea Kindergarten
Delivered the brand new two room kindergarten in partnership with Kingston Council.
Acacia Avenue Kindergarten
Delivered a brand new two room kindergarten in partnership with Kingston Council.
